Jewelry Care

We highly recommend you follow some simple maintenance on your custom jewelry, to keep it sparkly and vibrant for years to come!

Acrylic
Acrylic requires little maintenance, other than occasionally cleaning with a soft, non-scratch cloth, tepid water, and a tiny amount of gentle soap (if needed). It is best to store it in sealed jewelry bags, to protect it from scratching.

Plated Metals
To slow plated metals from tarnishing, store them in sealed jewelry bags away from bright lights and open air. It is best to protect them from direct exposure to hair products, oils and lotions, and we do not advise wearing them in the water. If cleaning is required, it should be done with a DRY, non-scratch cloth with no cleaners, or water. They should never be dipped in liquid jewelry cleaner, as it will strip the plating off.

Sterling Silver and 14K Gold
To slow sterling and gold filled metals from tarnishing, store them in sealed jewelry bags away from bright lights and open air. It is best to protect them from direct exposure to hair products, oils and lotions. They should never be dipped in a liquid jewelry cleaner as it can strip the metals.

You can occasionally clean them with a gentle soap, lukewarm water, and a soft, non-scratch cloth to remove natural oils that build up from everyday exposure. This helps restore the naturally brilliance of the metal. You can also use a polishing cloth, such as a Sunshine  brand cloth, to restore shine.

Wood
While our alder wood is sealed to protect from moisture, our natural woods are not. It is best to keep wood dry, and spot clean with a slightly damp cloth on an as needed basis. Excess moisture and chemicals can cause warping of the wood, and can separate it from the metal hardware.
